RED GRAPE HEART HEALTHY GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE

Red grapes, preferably seeded, are the star of this easy heart healthy green smoothie recipe.

They not only add a natural sweetness, red grapes in particular have resveratrol in the skin, which is why doctors recommend drinking one glass of wine per day for heart health.

Get the same benefits without a possible hangover! 😉 The seeds in the grapes also provide a natural nutritional benefit (no need to buy grape seed extract anymore!)

Use a good power blender to liquefy the skin & seeds and therefore easily absorb all the nutrients in the red grapes, spinach, banana, and optional chia seeds.

This green smoothie recipe is a simple combination that works for kids and adults alike.  Easy to make in the morning, it only contains 3 ingredients and gives you plenty of energy to get up and going!

Thanks for sharing awesome article. I’ve just prepared with my newly purchased hand blender and tested it. It’s really awesome.

Made it with 2 cups of red grapes, 1 banana, 2 cups spinach, and 2 cups ice with a squirt of blue agave. Turn out to be a new favorite

Mine was ALL green…. but TASTY !! Kids loved it. Actually my son tried to act like he didn’t like it until I heard that “straw has reached the bottom of the cup sound” ..lol then he just looked at me and smiled

I love when the kids enjoy these green smoothies! You may get resistance at first, but after they see how tasty they are, you have them hooked. Just like your son!

  4. The recipe was delicious!

I have a question though regarding the health benefits. You mention the benefit of grape seed extract yet the recipie calls for seedless grapes. Why the discrepancy?

    1. Blender Babes

Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy Tanya! It was supposed to say “seeded” grapes. 🙂 I’ve updated so it’s more clear. HAPPY BLENDING!

  5. The smoothie was delicious! But, I have a question…in the recipe it calls for ” seedless red grapes” yet one of the nutritional benefits talks about that from ” grape seed extracts”. Why the discrepancy in the recipe?

  6. Mine came out very green…not sure what I am doing wrong. What is the best way to measure the greens…loosely or tightly packed? My Vitamix seemed bogged down, too. I am totally new to this (my blender and green smoothies both) and really want this new habit to stick…so any help/tips would be greatly appreciated!!

    1. Hey Didi and welcome! We had to adjust the recipe to be larger and when we added more greens it changed the color a lot, so you’re doing it right! You may need to adjust how you layer the ingredients in your smoothie. Liquids are always first, then soft stuff, then hard (frozen fruit or ice, apples, etc.). Use the tamper to push the ingredients into the blade. If it’s still giving you trouble, you may need a bit more liquid. Hope that helps! HAPPY BLENDING!

    1. Yes absolutely! In fact the seeded grapes provide more nutrition, and a high powered blender such as your Vitamix can pulverize the seeds, making the nutrition readily available for our body to absorb. 🙂 HAPPY BLENDING!

It was too thick for me. I didn’t know we were supposed to add water. I will try it again with more water.

If the consistency isn’t right, you can always go back and add more water or ice and re-blend! Happy Blending!!
