This delicious green smoothie is super thick and creamy, thanks to 1/2 an avocado. Avocado provides lots of beautifying healthy fats as well as provides a smoothie-like texture without the banana.

If you don’t have a Blendtec or Vitamix high powered blender, not to worry, just add a little more liquid and review how to make green smoothies with a regular blender.

Avocados have 35% more potassium than a banana and contain more natural fiber than any other fruit, which aids in digestion and helps regulate blood sugar.

They also contain heart-healthy oleic acid which improves your cardiovascular system, add Vitamin B6 and folic acid which help prevent heart disease.

They also contain the master antioxidant “Glutathione” which boosts your body’s immune system and keeps your nervous system healthy.

Great taste. I’m still a little weird about the texture of the avocado in the smoothie, but overall enjoyed it. I think next time, I’ll add a squirt of lemon too. 🙂

  2. I really liked this! I used fresh ginger in a small sliver. I can defintily taste it. yummy!

I was scared about using an avocado for this, but turned out there was no need to fear, it’s delicious! (Although I told my husband after he took a sip of his and said it was good that there was an avocado in there, and his reply was, “I really wish you hadn’t told me that.” Hah!)

I love this! I added the ginger and together with the mango it makes it taste like a super creamy tropical dessert! This is my favorite so far! Its like the smoothies get progressively tastier the further into the smoothie challenge. LOVE!!

I have had avocado in smoothies before. Never in a green smoothie though, I liked it. I like to use avocado in sweet/treat-like smoothies to add a creamy texture! I find that 1/4 of an avocado is enough. I am not a huge pineapple/mango fan, so I think next time I will leave it out but otherwise, I liked this smoothie 🙂

I admit I wasn’t going to try this as it looked scary…. But it was amazing as all of them so far! I will not question any of these recipes

    1. Hello Scarlet and WELCOME! Sorry it’s not there now, however we are working on getting nutritional info for ALL recipes by early 2014! 🙂

  7. Glad you like it Bonnie! It makes 3-4 cups (24-32oz), most people that replace a meal with a green smoothie drink between 16 and 32oz. If it's too much for you, you can freeze any leftovers and pull it out the night before to thaw on a morning you need to run out the door – or have for a snack later in the day! 🙂 Happy Blending! xoxo
