3 BULLETPROOF COFFEE RECIPES THAT WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF
When I first heard about Bulletproof coffee by Dave Asprey, I thought it sounded GROSS!
Why on earth would I put BUTTER in my COFFEE?? I was reminded of the time I first moved to Los Angeles and drove by a Fatburger stand on La Cienega Blvd.
I thought then what a disgusting name for a burger joint and vowed to never eat there… until one day I did… and realized I had wasted 5 years living in LA not enjoying the deliciousness that is Fatburger!
As people continued to rave about starting their mornings off with their standard and deviations of Bulletproof coffee recipes, within my communities and all over social media – I decided to give it a whirl!
Especially since a blender makes it all perfectly frothy…
What did I find? It was creamy ANDÂ delicious!!
Plus I powered through my busy mornings with a little fire in my step (not to be confused with my rear – or “disaster pants” – luckily I never experienced that. As a side note, start with a teaspoon of coconut oil if you’re not used to it) AND I wasn’t hungry until around 1pm!
P.S. That is pretty much unheard of for me – even after drinking a large 32 oz green smoothie for breakfast, I’m usually pretty hungry by 10:30.
So I was hooked!
Since then I’ve tried and created several recipes for myself and my communities and my recipe testers have confirmed their deliciousness.
There’s even vegan bulletproof recipes (i.e. no grass fed butter)
I did a bunch of research on Bulletproof coffee and the science behind it.
I even tried out some of the Bulletproof products.
Even if you don’t fully believe in what they say about it, bottom line is Bulletproof coffee is a healthier verison of many coffee shop coffee drinks – it doesn’t have fake sugar, chemical laden creamers, etc.
I LOVED these during colder months, however when it’s hot out I crave my healthy smoothie recipes!
Now I usually have one once a week, depending on the weather, my mood, and what ingredients I have on hand.
I highly recommend trying one of these Bulletproof Coffee recipes and seeing for yourself if it’s something that works for you!
I don’t judge. I just blend and drink. 🙂

P.P.S. These drinks are mostly fat.
They are meant to give your brain and body healthy fat fuel – they replace a meal and are around 500 calories for 2 cups.
~EASY VEGAN BULLETPROOF COFFEE RECIPE~
If you love coffee get ready for a healthier version of a cup here.
It’s missing all the fake sugars and creamers of your retail cup of joe! Instead of using grass fed butter, this bulletproof coffee uses coconut oil as creamer.
It’s one of the best methods to lighten up coffee and gives it a whipped cream effect that you will love.
It tastes great without being super sweet or too acidic.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups brewed coffee OR Crio Bru
1/4 cup your favorite milk substitute (we like homemade milk substitutes)
3 tablespoons high quality organic coconut oil OR 1.5 tablespoons organic coconut oil + 1.5 tablespoons MCT oil
1 tablespoon coconut sugar OR maple syrup (vegan)
OPTIONAL ADDITIONS:
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of vanilla (or use vanilla milk substitute)
1/2 teaspoon raw cacao
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Place all ingredients into the blender in the order listed and secure lid.
2) Blend on HIGH for about 30 seconds.
~SPICY COCONUT BULLETPROOF COFFEE RECIPE~
I tried a version of this at one of my local coffee shops and recreated it at home.
I love the little kick at the end, especially on a cold morning when I need to get up early and need a warm boost instead of a pre-workout smoothie!
I sometimes also make this with grass-fed butter and either coconut oil or mct oil.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups brewed coffee OR Bulletproof Decaf ORÂ Crio Bru
1 Tablespoon full fat coconut milk (from a can – omit if using butter)
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil OR MCT Oil OR BrainOctane
1 Tablespoon Grass-Fed Butter or Ghee (optional – omit for vegan)
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 drops stevia.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Place all ingredients listed above into the blender in the order listed and secure lid.
2) Blend on HIGH for about 30 seconds.
3) Add 1/8-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/8-1/4 teaspoon cayenne and Pulse to combine.
Start with less on the spices and add to taste.
~ORIGINAL BULLETPROOF COFFEE RECIPE~
The cure for early morning grogginess an fogginess AND that late afternoon slump!
INGREDIENTS:
1-2 cups (~250-500ml) of hot coffee brewed with low-toxin beans (like Bulletproof Upgraded Coffee) using a metal filter (like french press or gold filter drip).
At least 1-2 tablespoons unsalted grass-fed butter or ghee.
1-2 tablespoons of Brain Octaneâ„¢ or XCT oilâ„¢ (these are 18x and 6x stronger than coconut oil, with no flavor.
They are NOT generic MCT oil, which is about 1.6x stronger than coconut oil)
INSTRUCTIONS:
There’s some more steps involved in Dave’s original Bulletproof Coffee recipe, but basically – Blend until there is a thick layer of foam on top like a latte.
