Not just that! The key to reaping the rewards of this cleanse is finding what works, and doesn’t work, for you. When you do this juice cleanse, including the days before and after, I want you to pay attention to your body and become aware of how you FEEL.
For the first couple of days as you start eliminating foods from your diet such as caffeine, alcohol, wheat, gluten and eventually meat and dairy, you may feel tired or irritable, and may even experience nausea or flu-like symptoms. Usually, this WILL pass, and you will feel lighter and more clear and balanced. If it doesn’t however, don’t feel bad about it, and listen to your body. You don’t NEED to do a cleanse or detox diet plan to be “healthy”.
If your body, mind, or both doesn’t react well to limiting the foods you eat, even for a day, don’t put yourself through it. It will introduce 5-10 servings per day of fruits or vegetables to your diet (you can either add it to your regular meals or replace one meal per day). Why Do A Juice Cleanse or Detox
One or more times a year, WE REALLY SHOULD “DETOXIFY” or “CLEANSE” our bodies. Why? BECAAAAAUUUUSE! My old English teacher would kill me… but simply BECAUSE. Although we know it’s bad to eat artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors, preservatives and processed foods – almost all of us do, many of us on a daily basis. And (there I go again) that’s just HALF the battle. We’re still fighting for GMO labels (and eating GMOs every day in the meantime) as well as consuming hormones and antibiotics from dairy and meat, not to mention pesticides and other chemicals from seemingly healthy fruits, vegetables and grains. That’s just the food we’re eating! Environmental and skin care products also play a role.

I believe in and have experienced the various health benefits of blended juice cleanse recipes vs traditional juice extracted recipes. The truth is – whenever I have tried a detox or fast, whether it be a super restricting Master Cleanse diet or a standard raw juice cleanse – I was famished throughout the day, fairly irritable, couldn’t concentrate on my work I was so hungry, and I lost weight in places I didn’t want or need (T&A!!).

HOW TO: BLENDER BABES JUICE CLEANSE W/ RECIPES + TIPS
Preparation is ESSENTIAL – I cannot stress this enough. The better prepared you are before your cleanse (both physically and mentally), the smoother your transition will be and the better you are going to feel!! A few days leading up to your cleanse you will cut down and eventually eliminate some of the foods, snacks and other indulgences we are so used to eating every day. Certain foods, such as coffee, sugar, meat, dairy, alcohol, and wheat are phased out to reduce headaches, cravings, and other withdrawal symptoms. It’s also important to increase your consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables prior and after the juice cleanse, which you will easily do with a green smoothie or two! 🙂
IMPORTANT! Don’t be tempted to consume a ‘Last Supper’ meal the night before you start the juice cleanse. You will NOT be a happy individual by the end of the day, TRUST ME. Your regular meal the day before the cleanse starts should be lightly steamed green veggies, a big green salad and/or a vegetable soup.

Blender Babes Juice Cleanse Recipes & Daily Plan
For 1 or more days (no more than 5), you will drink a total of 6 juices per day – and (only if you MUST) you may EAT one meal that consists of only fruits or vegetables at the end of the day.
♥ Start every morning with a glass of warm filtered water containing the juice of half of a fresh squeezed organic lemon. Just make sure to drink it through a reusable straw to prevent stripping the enamel off your teeth, as lemons are acidic out of the body and become alkaline once inside the body. How much lemon juice is a matter of personal preference but for most people, squeeze half a lemon in 8 to 16 ounce glass of warm to hot filtered water. This will also help wake up your system and get things moving. This is a daily habit we recommend you stick with beyond the juice cleanse. It’s so easy to do and can really help your body with normal elimination and detoxification processes.
♥ As your day starts, drink your juice recipes in order as often as you need to. Since we all have different lifestyles and schedules, a good rule of thumb as far as when to drink your juice, is to wait about one to two hours between juices and to finish the last beverage about two hours before you sleep. If you decide to eat 1 meal of fruits or vegetables at the end of the day, try to eat it 2 hours before you go to sleep. If you EAT right before you sleep at night, this does not allow your insides to properly REST.
♥ You MUST hydrate and help eliminate as much as possible with 8oz-16oz of filtered water between your juice cleanse recipes.

Daily Meals Allowed & Elimination of Foods Prior and After Your Juice Cleanse
5 Days Before & After – Can eat red meat. No wheat or gluten from now until day 6 after your cleanse. You will have one green smoothie per day and 2 or 3 regular meals, and snacks.
4 Days Before & After – Can eat fish or white meat chicken/poultry. You will have one green smoothie per day and 2 or 3 regular meals, and snacks.
3 Days Before & After – You can eat dairy (unsweetened yogurt) and eggs. No meat, soy, or caffeinated beverages such as coffee. You will have one or two green smoothies per day and eat 2 regular meals, and snacks.
2 Days Before & After – No form of dairy. You will have 1 or two green smoothies (dairy free) and you can eat 1 or 2 regular meals, snacks.
1 Day Before & After – You will have two green smoothies (dairy free) and you can eat 1 regular meal of, vegetable soups, green salad, raw or lightly steamed green vegetables (e.g. spinach, broccoli, asparagus; try and avoid the more starchy veggies like potatoes and squash) and snacks.
♦ Eat ORGANIC. However if you must eat non-organic – use these natural fruit and vegetable washing tips.
♦ Chew your food thoroughly so it is easily digested.
♦ Chew your green smoothies (I know, sounds weird) but it will stimulate enzymes to help digestion.
♦ Avoid overeating by keeping portion sizes small.
♦ If you’re hungry, drink another green smoothie or juice! You are not on a “diet”. You should feel satiated.
♦ When reintroducing foods at each day after the cleanse, DO THEM ONE AT A TIME. Whether dairy, white meat/fish, red meat, wheat, gluten, or caffeine. NOTE ANY REACTIONS the day you eat the food. Do you feel changes in energy? Digestion? Cravings? Any other symptoms? This will not only help you become aware of HOW these food affect YOUR body, but can also help you realize if you have any sensitivities and should limit or omit these from your diet.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FURTHER DETOX
Skin Brushing: Exfoliation is key! Your skin is your largest organ, and provides the most efficient and direct exit route for anything that needs to be “evacuated”. Dry skin brushing before a shower or before exercising will open up those eliminatory pores. Learn more about Dry Skin Brushing.
Saunas, Contrast Showers & Detox Baths: A sauna or steam room is another trick to speed up any detox. Couple that with a series of hot/cold showers (known as contrast showers) and you’ll feel like a new person. A contrast shower is when you do hot (3-5 minutes), then cold (1 minute) then repeat 3-5 times. It helps with circulation. Finish with cold water. (Note: Anyone with heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma and diabetes should consult their doctor before trying contrast showers, and pregnant women should avoid this therapy altogether.)

Massage Therapy: This will help with the lymphatic system. (The lymphatic system aids the immune system in removing and destroying waste, debris, dead blood cells, pathogens, and toxins) and helps the effects of your cleanse! A foam roller is a great way to assist your lymphatic system as well. Applying physical manipulation to assist in its detoxification process.
EXERCISING DURING THE JUICE CLEANSE
During the days leading up to and after the juice cleanse, it’s fine to exercise as normal! During the Juice Cleanse part of this, however, we want you to give your body a brief break from exercise. We highly recommend not doing ANY strenuous exercise but if you choose to still exercise, try light yoga or walking, which can help to boost blood and lymphatic circulation. REMEMBER: After exercising, you should shower as soon as possible to wash off your sweat, otherwise your skin reabsorbs it!
One of the healthiest and most natural ways to detoxify your body is through a raw food cleanse. Raw foods rid the body of harmful toxins and cleanses and rejuvenates the body as well as strengthens the immune system. The reason I developed these blended whole juice cleanse recipes and program, is well BECAUSE! No really, it’s because I understand the desire and need to “detox” as well as the hesitancy and fear of deprivation and failure. I think almost EVERYONE can partake in a ONE DAY JUICE CLEANSE, and then decide if you want to do more than 1 day, or perhaps try two days the NEXT TIME you detox. YOU will know what is best for YOU, and we all have different needs.
