I have not tried Matcha yet, however, it sounds like something I need to have around, especially for this recipe! 🙂

I cant believe that the recipe is so short and simple, although, I’m not really familiar with some of the ingredients used lol…But the green smoothies showcased on this website, looks really appetizing. I cant wait to try them all…Its a really great site. THANKS!!!

Yum! I definitely enjoyed. It does have an unique flavor, but I got over it quickly. Being a college student I need all the help i can get with focusing in a long lecture

  7. I have not heard of matcha! I do NOT have a good blender.. I have a bad blender! LOL It’s an OLD OLD osterizer from the 60’s I think.. it’s bad. I want a blendtech SO BAD. I pray I win.

  8. Have had matcha in some hot green tea varieties and green tea frap at Starbucks. This blend looks good and probably a lot less than Starbucks.

    1. Yum Robin! Matcha ice cream sounds delicious! Refreshing, especially on a hot day + antioxidants. DONE 🙂 We’re on a mission now!

  9. I just learned about matcha 3 weeks ago and ive been drinking it almost daily. I love it! I just started adding it to my morning smoothies yesterday.

  10. I have never tried matcha powder before, but I’ve come across it in a lot of recipes on Pinterest and I’ve been thinking of grabbing a bag next time I’m in the health food store.

  11. 3 stars
You may want to kick me off this site, but matcha is my favorite Papa Beard flavor!
I really want to try “Green Dream” but want to avoid nanners. I’m looking for smoothies that are veg or fruit based, not “milk” & banana.

  12. I have been making matcha and almond milk lattes for over a year and just love the energy boost it gives without the jitters of coffee. I have even used it making icesceam. I have not tried it in my smoothie before. I look forward to reying this recipe!

love green smoothies, and this looks wonderful. I have watermelon and bananas in the freezer, can’t wait to make this in the morning.

  15. I absolutely LOVE matcha and have tried it many times before because I lived in HK for 10 years and Thailand for 8. I think it is a great addition to almost anything; smoothies, ‘nicecreams’ and etc.
    Fingers crossed I win 🙂

  16. I am looking forward to trying this. I haven’t heard of Matcha before today. I also have yet to have a smoothie with watermelon in it. Sounds good!

I’ve tried matcha before! It’s an incredible additive – especially for someone like me who hates other caffeinated drinks and loves tea 🙂

  22. I love matcha! When traveling abroad, I try to avoid US chains, but when I was in Tokyo, Starbucks did a matcha version of the frappuccino. I couldn’t stop drinking them!

  23. I’ve, actually, always been a bit apprehensive to try matcha afraid it will be too “grassy”, but I’m SO curious about it!

    1. Totally understand. It’s more green tea than grassy tasting. A little sweetener and it’s aaaallll good!

  24. I have had matcha mixed in with some green tea, but haven’t tried it by itself in a recipe yet. This recipe sounds fantastic! 🙂

  25. I have purchased (very expensive) and tried matcha powder, but I haven’t yet found a way to use it that I really care for. I have tried stirring it into warm beverages, but it gets very clumpy, and when the clumps are in my mouth they break open and I get a VERY strong tea leaf taste. Not sure what to do! ??

    1. Hmmm… We are new with Matcha ourselves! Definitely try it in this smoothie recipe! Also good matcha recipes, there’s TONS of great ones out there. I’m sure you can find some delicious ways to indulge (and use up!) that Matcha Robin! 🙂

  26. Yes, I use matcha powder. But, is it ceremonial grade… no! So, the quality is not so much! Love to try some “real” matcha.” I hear it’s super smooth. 😉

    1. Yes there’s lots of different grades of Matcha. Kathy has a whole review on it if you want to check it out on 🙂

  27. Can’t wait to try this shake! I’ve only had Matcha tea before, but would love to try to incorporate it into some of my shakes.

  28. I have tried Matcha before, and have some in the cupboard, but find I can’t drink it after lunch, or it keeps me awake at night. or is that my imagination??? 🙂

    1. We feel the same way Jane! It’s definitely a coffee replacement and has caffeine in it 🙂 It’s more powerful than regular green tea. HAPPY BLENDING!

Kathy’s Matcha smoothie is one of the best thing’s I’ve ever had! I would take it over candy anytime. 🙂

  30. I’ve never tried Matcha, but I’ve always wanted to! It’s so hard to find around my area, and I’ve been hesitant to buy online because I don’t know how it tastes. But this smoothie sounds amazing–I LOVE watermelon and am so glad it’s finally getting closer to being in season!

  31. I love matcha! Its so amazing! I make a similar smoothie with matcha, vanilla, frozen cantaloupe, lime and mint mmmm:)
