With delicious smoothie recipes often taking center stage here at Blender Babes, I am often asked to weigh in with my recommendations for high-quality protein powders.
And I get why this is a subject that's so important to this community.
First, if there's one area in the healthy living marketplace (besides power blenders) where there are a bevy of choices, it's protein powders.
Second, having a really good and tasty protein powder supplement in your bag of healthy goodies is essential.
You don't have to be an aspiring bodybuilder OR a workout fanatic to want the benefits that a good protein powder can provide.

Combined with regular exercise, protein powder supplements can help you:

As many of you may have experienced when shopping for protein powders, there are plenty out there that contain whey.
Full disclosure: it's a "no way" on whey protein powders for me.
Powdered whey is a highly processed form of protein that used to be thrown away until manufacturers discovered it could be packaged and sold.
Plus, whey can seriously mess with your gut flora causing digestive issues such as bloating, gas, loose stools and acne. Yikes!
Whether or not you have dairy or lactose issues, consuming a whey-based protein powder can make your life insufferable for a few hours.

So I was thrilled when I heard about a protein powder consisting of a powerful trifecta: protein + superfoods + greens.

My sons make protein smoothies for breakfast and after a workout.
I drink protein smoothies after a workout or before if it is light.
I think this would be beneficial to my health regimen
I drink protein smoothies any time of day depending on my dietary needs. I always have a post workout protein drink with carbs, and before bed a casein shake. MRPs I drink occasionally in the morning if I don’t have time to make a full breakfast. And I snack between meals on things like veggies & nuts for an energy boost.
I usually drink smoothies for lunch.
I find that protein smoothies are best for breakfast first thing in the morning
I drink a smoothie in the morning as a meal replacement. I love chocolate or chocolate mint. I add avocado for good fat & creaminess!
