LEMON LIME SMOOTHIE RECIPE
This lemon lime smoothie recipe is from one of our favorite Blender Babes, Julie Morris!
Our copy of her Superfood Smoothies cookbook is dog eared and covered with bits and pieces of ingredients from our test kitchen. :p I can assure you, this slushy like green smoothie is guaranteed to brighten your day!
Made with bok choy, this smoothie is packed full of vitamins and minerals.
The lemon lime gives this smoothie a nice fresh flavor. This is a low calorie smoothie recipe that everyone will love!
You can easily make this smoothie with your power blender, such as a Vitamix or Blendtec, but if you don’t have the best blender for smoothies not to worry!
Follow these tips to get your green smoothie super smooth!
From Julie: Let the truth come out: I first made a variation of this slushie-like smoothie as one of the “healthy margaritas” I make from time-to-time (yes, I put superfoods in my cocktails . . . why not?).
Tequila-talk aside, this version still has the tart flavor of a margarita, only with more concentrated benefits. You’ll definitely want to sweeten this a bit—its citrusy, sour notes are quite prominent.
I generally use 15 drops of stevia per blender, and adding a single tablespoon of coconut sugar is a special treat.

Stevia here. Honey has its place as well.
I usually don’t add a sweetener as our smoothies are heavy on fruits (frozen bananas, strawberries, etc) and sweetened/flavored yougurt
Yum! My go to sweetener is honey with dates as a close second!
Just fruit sweetens enough for me!
That’s the best way to sweeten!
I use local honey!
I like to use pineapple to sweeten if possible or maple syrup
I use maple syrup
Raw honey and stevia!
YUMM!!
Not sure I would like it
I use honey to sweeten my smoothies.
Maple syrup
This looks so good
Thanks Rebecca! I love it!
I use honey a lot to sweeten my smoothies. But I do also use Stevia sometimes
I prefer maple syrup for “heavy” recipies and agave syrup for “lighter” recipies
What a great recipe. Thanks for sharing! I only use a pure organic stevia extract in my smoothies. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you like the recipe, Dr. Pamela Reilly! xoxo HAPPY BLENDING!
