Vitamix Pro 750 Review
Your Complete Guide to the Vitamix Propel 750 - Plus Everything You Need to Know About the Vitamix Pro 750
If you've been searching for "Vitamix blender 750" "Vitamix pro 750" or "Vitamix propel 750" and unsure which blender is which, this guide covers everything you need to know.
If you loved the legendary Vitamix Professional 750 - or you're hearing about the newer Vitamix Propel 750 for the first time - you're in the right place.
Let me start with a bit of personal history: the Vitamix Professional 750 (aka Vitamix Pro 750) sat on my counter for many years. It was an absolute workhorse - one of the best blenders I've ever owned.
Eventually, I upgraded to the Vitamix Ascent A3500, and now I'm using the Vitamix Ascent X Series. But the Vitamix Pro 750 holds a special place in my blending heart.
The Vitamix Pro 750 is now retired. Its replacement - the Vitamix Propel 750, also called the Vitamix blender 750 - carries on that legacy with some meaningful updates. In this review, I'll cover both, help you decide which is right for you, and make sure you get the best possible deal.

The Vitamix Professional 750 - A Legend, Now Retired
For years, the Vitamix Professional 750 - often called the Vitamix pro 750 or simply the Vitamix blender 750 - was the gold standard of home blending. It was Vitamix's flagship G-Series (Legacy) blender, trusted by health-conscious home cooks around the world.
Here's what made the Vitamix Professional 750 so special:
- 2.2 peak horsepower motor - powerful enough for everything from silky smoothies to steaming hot soup
- 5 preset programs: Smoothie, Frozen Dessert, Hot Soup, Puree, and Self-Cleaning
- 10 variable speeds + Pulse
- 64-oz low-profile container with two-part lid
- Sound-dampening technology - one of the quieter Vitamix blenders of its era
- 7-year full warranty (new); 5-year (refurbished)
- Metal alloy base and gears built to last decades
I blended thousands of smoothies, soups, nut butters, and ice creams with my Vitamix Pro 750. It never skipped a beat.
When I finally upgraded to the Vitamix Ascent Series, it wasn't because the Pro 750 stopped working - it was because I wanted the latest features.
If you have the retired Vitamix Pro 750, treat it well and it will last you for many more years.
You can still find the Vitamix Professional 750 in a few select locations such as eBay or it’s back stock in small mom and pop Kitchen Stores.
If you're looking for the Vitamix blender 750 in the current model, the Vitamix Propel 750 is its successor.

Vitamix Propel 750 - Main Features
The Vitamix Propel 750 (Vitamix blender 750) delivers professional-grade performance with a feature set designed for everyday convenience. Here's what it offers:
Motor & Power
The Propel 750 packs the same 2.2 peak horsepower motor that Vitamix has used in all its top-tier blenders. Blade tip speed reaches 240 mph, making it capable of processing virtually any ingredient - frozen fruit, leafy greens, whole nuts, dry grains, and more.
4 Blending Programs + Self-Cleaning
The Vitamix Propel 750 includes four automatic preset programs plus a dedicated Self-Cleaning program:
- Smoothie - silky results every time
- Hot Soup - cold ingredients to steaming soup using only friction heat
- Frozen Dessert - creamy ice creams and frozen treats
- Dip & Spread - hummus, nut butters, salsas, and more
- Self-Cleaning - just add warm water and a drop of soap; the blender cleans itself in 60 seconds or less
Note: The Vitamix Professional 750 had 5 programs (including a Puree setting). The Propel 750 has 4 dedicated blend programs plus the Self-Cleaning program.
10 Variable Speeds + Pulse
Beyond the automatic programs, the Vitamix Propel 750 gives you full manual control with a 10-speed dial and dedicated pulse switch - the same physical controls that made the Pro 750 so beloved. You can fine-tune any texture from the smoothest purees to chunky salsas.
Dishwasher-Safe Container
This is one of the biggest improvements over the Vitamix Pro 750. The Propel 750's 64-oz container is made from BPA-free Eastman Tritan and is fully dishwasher safe - something the Pro 750's container was not. This alone is a major quality-of-life upgrade for daily blending households.
Compatible With Legacy Containers
Unlike the Vitamix Ascent Series (which requires Self-Detect containers), the Propel 750 is compatible with Legacy (non-Self-Detect) containers from older Vitamix models. If you're upgrading from an older Vitamix, your existing containers will likely work.
Important: Self-Detect Ascent containers do NOT work with the Propel 750. The Vitamix Food Processor Attachment is also NOT compatible with the Propel 750 - it requires an Ascent Series blender.Vitamix Propel 750 - Full Specifications

Vitamix Propel 750 - Performance
The Vitamix Propel 750 delivers on the core promise of every Vitamix blender: exceptional results with any ingredient. After years of blending with the Vitamix Pro 750 and now having moved to the Ascent Series, I can tell you that the Propel 750 performs at the same elite level as any Vitamix in its class.
- Smoothies come out completely seed-free and silky smooth - no fibrous texture, no matter the greens you use
- Hot soups are made in about 6 minutes using only the motor's friction heat - no stovetop needed
- Nut butters are creamy and preserve all the natural oils - no unwanted additives like store-bought
- Ice cream from frozen fruit is perfectly smooth and scoopable
- Dry grinding of grains, coffee, and spices is fast and thorough
One important note about noise: the Vitamix Propel 750 does not have the sound-dampening technology that was built into the Vitamix Professional 750 (G-Series). Independent testing has shown the Propel 750 runs slightly louder than the Pro 750. If quiet operation is a top priority, consider the Vitamix Ascent X Series, which is the quietest lineup Vitamix has ever produced.
Controls & User-Friendliness
The Vitamix Propel 750 uses physical controls - the same intuitive interface that made the Pro 750 a joy to use:
- Variable Speed Dial - large, chunky dial with 10 distinct speeds; also doubles as the program selector
- Pulse Switch - runs the blender at turbo speed for quick bursts while held
- Start/Stop Switch - activates the selected speed or program
- On/Off Master Switch - safety switch on the side of the base; flip off when not in use without needing to unplug
The physical controls make the Propel 750 feel familiar and reliable - no touchscreen to learn, no apps to configure. Just blend.
Cleaning
Cleaning the Vitamix Propel 750 (Vitamix blender 750) is effortless:
- Add warm water and a drop of dish soap
- Run the Self-Cleaning program
- Rinse and done - in 60 seconds or less
Plus, the container and lid are dishwasher safe - a major upgrade from the Vitamix Pro 750, whose container was hand-wash only. This is one of my favorite improvements in the Propel 750.
Warranty
- New Vitamix Propel 750: 7-year full warranty - covers all parts, performance, labor, and two-way shipping at no cost
- Certified Reconditioned Propel 750: 5-year warranty
Vitamix is the only blender brand I'm aware of that pays for two-way return shipping under warranty. The 7-year warranty on the Propel 750 is among the best offered on any blender.
New Propel 750 purchases also come with a 60-day risk-free in-home trial: return it within 60 days for a full refund, with Vitamix covering return shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions - Vitamix Blender 750
Is the Vitamix Pro 750 still available?
No. The Vitamix Professional 750 (Vitamix Pro 750) has been retired. The Vitamix Propel 750 is its current replacement and shares the same 64-oz container, physical controls, and 2.2 HP motor.
What's the difference between the Vitamix Propel 750 and the Vitamix Pro 750?
The key differences: the Propel 750 has a dishwasher-safe container (the Pro 750 was hand-wash only), 4 programs vs. 5, and runs slightly louder due to the absence of the Pro 750's sound-dampening technology. Overall performance and power are essentially identical.
Is the Vitamix Propel 750 worth it in 2026?
Yes - if you want a large-capacity (64-oz) blender with Legacy container compatibility and classic physical controls, the Propel 750 is a great choice. However, it's worth comparing to the Vitamix Ascent X2 ($549.95), which offers a 10-year warranty, quieter operation, and the Ascent ecosystem at a lower price.
Does the Vitamix Propel 750 work with my old Vitamix container?
In most cases, yes. The Propel 750 is compatible with Legacy (non-Self-Detect) containers from older Vitamix models. It is NOT compatible with Ascent Series Self-Detect containers.
Can I use the Vitamix Food Processor Attachment with the Propel 750?
No. The Vitamix Food Processor Attachment is only compatible with Ascent Series blenders (X2, X3, X4, X5, A2500, A3500). If you want this attachment, you'll need an Ascent Series blender.
What replaced the Vitamix blender 750 / Pro 750?
The Vitamix Propel 750 is the direct replacement, carrying forward the 64-oz container, physical controls, and large-batch blending capability. For those who want to move to the current flagship lineup, the Vitamix Ascent X Series (X2, X3, X4, X5) is Vitamix's primary platform going forward.
