Vacuum Blender For Vitamix And Blendtec Review

If youโ€™ve been keeping up on the blender scene then youโ€™ve probably heard some buzz about the new best thing when it comes to quality and consistency โ€” using a vacuum blender.

For a while now, one of the biggest obstacles that many people were faced with was that if they wanted to partake in vacuum blending they would either need to buy a whole new blender or settle for subpar faux-vacuum blending solutions.

However, Void Systems seems to have remedied all of this with their new products.

1) A standalone vacuum blending lid for Blendtec containers
2) A complete vacuum blender for Vitamix retrofit kit.
3) An all-in-one high powered vacuum blender.

Their solutions can be used to transform the blender that you already own into a high-quality vacuum blending machineโ€ฆor just get an all-in-one high powered vacuum blender, but just how good are they?

Letโ€™s find out!

Vacuum Blender Benefits - Why Get One?

I think itโ€™s important to quickly go over the benefits of having the best vacuum blender so you understand why this is something you should consider adding to your blending arsenal.

Vacuum blending vs regular blending

Increased Nutrition

Every second an oxidized smoothie sits out the more nutrient loss and food damage occurs. Vacuum blending reduces air pressure in the jar so that during the blending process oxidation of important vitamins such as vitamin C, and fat-soluble vitamins like A and E is massively reduced.

No Smoothie Foam

One of the biggest complaints I hear from my community is the large amount of foam that their blender creates when making a smoothie or whole food green juice. Thankfully due to the nature of vacuum blending, which removes the air from the jar, this eliminates foamy smoothies.

No Separation

Have you ever noticed after you blend your smoothie, that shortly after it separates? Especially if you blend ahead of time for meal prep or my 7-Day Blender Cleanse program? With a vacuum blender removing the air from the container, once it emulsifies the ingredients they stay together for long periods. I tested this for 15 hours with no separation next to a regularly blended smoothie that began to separate after an hour.

Bright Color

Without oxidation from air present in the container, the emulsified fruits and vegetables from a vacuum blender creates a much more vibrant color than a regularly blended smoothie.

Fresh Flavor

Vacuum blending also provides the freshest flavor possible! Without oxidation and better emulsification of the fruits and vegetables, increased nutrition and no foam or separation, your smoothie tastes amazingly fresh!

Who is a Vacuum Blender For

  • Blendtec and Vitamix owners who are interested in the benefits of a vacuum blender.
  • Business owners using Blendtec or Vitamix in their commercial locations who want to offer vacuum blended drinks to their customers.
  • Smoothie lovers who hate foam and want to maximize the nutrition and keep their smoothies fresh and tasting great for much longer.
  • Health conscious people who want the best thing in blending without the high price tag.

Now that weโ€™ve discussed WHY you might want to consider a vacuum blender and WHO a vacuum blender is for, letโ€™s dive deeper into the vacuum blender solutions by VOID Systems.

Cost

For a lot of us, the price of any appliance is the first โ€” and oftentimes biggest โ€” hurdle that we have to get past when weโ€™re shopping around.

Thankfully, when it comes to the aforementioned vacuum blender for Vita-Mix and Blendtec, the cost that Void Systems is asking for is not a particularly hard pill to swallow.

Now, it is also important to keep in mind that there are three main vacuum blending products that Void Systems offers and they each come with their own associated cost.

$25 Off Promo Code

Use Promo Code "BlenderBabes" for $25 OFF

all VOID Vacuum blending solutions.

Blendtec Promo Code
  1. The VOID Vacuum Blender Lid For Blendtec Containers โ€” $229.00 ($204 with promo code BlenderBabes for $25 off)
  2. The VOID Vacuum Blender VitaMix Retrofit Kit โ€” $299.99 ($274.99 with promo code BlenderBabes for $25 off)
  3. The VOID Complete Vacuum Blender Solution โ€” $499.00 ($474.99 with promo code BlenderBabes for $25 off)

Although these are by no means the most expensive prices that youโ€™ll find if youโ€™re shopping around for a vacuum blender, VoidSystems has still gone a step further to make its products more accessible to a wider audience.

For example, in the case of the Vita-Mix Complete Retrofit Kit, you have the option to either pay the full upfront cost, pay four interest-free installments of $75.00, or pay $27.08/month over a 12-month period (a little less with our $25 discount!).

The VOID Complete Vacuum Blender Solution:

If you donโ€™t already own one of these high speed blender options and youโ€™re in the market for a new blender and looking for the best vacuum blender, the Void complete vacuum blender solution is the best bang for your buck, especially when itโ€™s on sale from itโ€™s retail price of $499.

You will receive a high powered blender with similar controls to a Vitamix blender, with a low to high speed variable dial, pulse switch and start/stop switch.

How the Vacuum Blending Lid Works

  1. Step 1. Load your blender jar with the lightest/least dense items like spinach leaves on bottom and most dense like ice cubes and frozen fruit on the top.
  2. Step 2. Place the VOID lid on top of the jar. Be sure the lid is properly seated and sealed. Turn the lid on.
  3. Step 3. The lid comes factory set with 3 presets: 8, 12 and 16. If using presets press the Nav (>>) button to desired preset (I know I like to blend my smoothies on 16 so I usually use that setting) and then press go until you hear the pumps running. Note: if you are using VAC+ mode you will just press go and let it run for a couple minutes until the pressure is no longer increasing and press GO again.
  4. Step 4. Wait until the ready to blend message appears on the VOID lid screen. (Will not appear in VAC+ mode) Blending before VOID is ready will result in less effective vacuum blending and can also damage the internal pumps.
  5. Step 5. Release/Vent the vacuum pressure by pulling down on the red tab located on the bottom circle of the lid. After venting the container carefully pry up on a corner of the lid and serve your blend.

Removing the Vacuum Blending Lid

As the vacuum lid seals, whether on the Void System blender jar, the Vitamix retrofit kit blender jar or the Blendtec Wildside or Fourside Jar - an immense amount of pressure is placed on the jar and this must be released in order to be able to remove the lid.

Removing the lid takes some getting used to. I definitely had to do it a few times to get the hang of it.

I like to leave the lid powered on so I can see the pressure release to โ€œ0โ€ however you can also press the power button off prior to lifting the vent.

The best way I found was to keep my finger holding the red vent open (so no pressure) while grabbing the corner of the lid at the same time and pulling towards me. Sometimes I gently lift all four corners of the lid a bit first.

Steps to remove the Void vacuum lid

  1. Lift the red silicone vent to release all of the pressure
  2. Grab one corner of the lid and pull up

Vacuum Blender for Vitamix

Void Vitamix Vacuum Blender Kit

Many Vitamix owners have the opportunity to turn their Vitamix blender into a vacuum blender with the VOID vacuum blender Vitamix retrofit kit. The kit comes with an adaptor pad, vacuum blender jar and lid, tamper and wireless charger.

This means the kit works with Legacy series and Explorian series.

  5. Step 5. When lid is ready, blend your smoothie as you normally would, either with low to high manual speeds or a smoothie setting.

Vacuum Blender vs Vitamix

In my video and testing I compared the Vacuum blender vs Vitamix by using the Vitamix vacuum blender retrofit kit and a regular Vitamix blender using the same ingredients and blending for the same amount of time.

I also tested the Vacuum blender for Blendtec and the Void Vacuum blender as well.

Refurbished Vitamix Deals

Below are the blends in following order.

  1. Void Vacuum blender
  2. Void Vacuum blender for Vitamix Retrofit Kit
  3. Void Blendtec vacuum blender lid
  4. Vitamix regular blender
Vacuum blender vs Vitamix comparison

Even though the vacuum blends were all blended prior to the final blend with the a regular Vitamix blender, you can see the separation after just 30 minutes and then 90 minutes later, compared to the vacuum blends.

Btw I left the glasses overnight and 16 hours later the vacuum blends had STILL not separated! Amazing right?!

VOID Vacuum Blender Main Features

Pros

  • Provides high-quality vacuum blending for up to one month on a single charge.
  • Creates better-tasting blends with better color, less separation, and considerably less foam.
  • It features a very simple and straightforward 3-button layout.
  • The vacuum blender lid supports wireless charging.
  • You have the ability to pay full price or in installments.
  • Fair and robust warranty plan compared to competitors.

Cons

  • Neither the vacuum blender lid or the jars are dishwasher safe.
  • Removing the lid does require a bit of getting used to.
  • You canโ€™t use the lid while it is charging.
  • It has a fairly minimalist design, which could be an issue if you want something flashy, like the Kuvings vacuum blender for $1999.

Design

When it comes to design, there are three main factors that we need to look at: appearance, power, and functionality.

For the first factor โ€” appearance โ€” it just takes one look at the VoidSystems vacuum blender to see that it follows a fairly minimalist visual design. This is not to say that it doesnโ€™t look great (donโ€™t worry it wonโ€™t be an eyesore on your kitchen counter) but just that the aesthetics are fairly simple and straightforward.

What I liked most about it was how well it is designed, with the technology to function like a $2k vacuum blending โ€œsystemโ€ in the form a simple, easy to use lid.

Nice clean and straight lines, a very neutral black finish โ€” it's simply a way to transform your high powered blender into a professional quality vacuum blender that looks greatโ€ฆnothing more, nothing less.

If you want a vacuum blender that will stand out from the crowd visually, then youโ€™ll have to look elsewhere, this vacuum blender for Vita-Mix and Blendtec is all about function over flair.

Power

Once you start to step up your game from a traditional blender and for example, go for something like a vacuum blender, the issue of power becomes very important.

Several questions need to be asked:

  • How are these additional features powered?
  • Do these extensions draw power from the blender itselfโ€ฆare they built in?
  • Do I need to buy a special adapter for the blender?
  • Am I going to need to plug in more wires while Iโ€™m operating my blender?
  • Do I need to buy batteries to power this additional feature?

Thankfully, when it comes to the vacuum blender for Vita-Mix and Blendtec, Void Systems has been able to utilize very convenient and straightforward power solutions. Since all of the vacuum capabilities are dependent on the lid, it is the only other point (along with the base of the blender) where power needs to be supplied.

Each vacuum blender lid comes with a wall power adapter, a USB cable, and a wireless charger. You then place the wireless charger on top of the lid and thatโ€™s itโ€ฆyou just wait until it is fully charged.

There is only one caveat, you canโ€™t use the lid while it is charging. The good news is that once the lid is fully charged you can expect it to last for about a month or so (under average circumstances) before it needs charging again. I love that I donโ€™t have to charge it all the time and can put the charger away.

Controls and User Friendliness

Long story short, the controls and user-friendliness of the Void Systems vacuum blender and lid for Vita-Mix and Blendtec are second to none.
Now I know what youโ€™re thinking โ€” โ€œthis must be an exaggeration, right?โ€

No, it's the truth.

There are no complex button layouts, no confusing presets that you need to sort through, and no intricate sequences that you need to carry outโ€ฆthe lid just has three buttons.

Void Lid
  • A power button to turn the lid on.
  • An arrow button to navigate through programmable pressure presets.
  • A โ€œGoโ€ button to start the pumps.

Above these three buttons there is an easy-to-read screen that displays the charge level, presets (as you cycle through them), and a โ€œREADYโ€ indicator.

Vacuum Blending Noise

Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re curious about how loud the vacuum blender is. If youโ€™re used to the noise from a high-powered blender, you can probably handle the noise created during the vacuum seal process.

Once you press GO on the vacuum lid it begins to create a pressure seal and does make noise while it does so, but it only lasts for a 1-2 minutes. I usually wait until the lid reaches about 16 before pressing GO again to stop the lid and blend my beverage.

In short, itโ€™s not quiet but your fresh and vibrant vacuum smoothie or juice will be ready in a 2-3 minutes.

Clean Up

Now, after singing the praises of the Void Systems vacuum blender for Vita-Mix and Blendtec, we need to do a 180 and bring up a point that a lot of you arenโ€™t going to like โ€” the lid is not dishwasher safe.

Right now, some of you are saying to yourself โ€” โ€œduh, of course it isnโ€™tโ€ โ€” however, even if you think that this should be fairly obvious, it is still technically a drawback.

That being said, you would be very hard-pressed to find an automatic vacuum blender lid that is just as feature heavy and powerful, while also being dishwasher-safe (does one even exist?).

All things considered, even though you have to do it yourself, the clean-up process of the Void Systems vacuum blender lid is still very simple. Even though it is not dishwasher safe, it is still designed to be hand rinsed under running water. In addition to this, the gasket that is attached to the bottom of the lid can be removed, so that it (and the area behind it) can be easily cleaned.

Warranty

Compared to the majority of its competitors, Void Systems offers a very robust warranty program for all of its lids, jars, and blender bases. Here is a general overview of what you can expect:

  • 1 month โ€” guaranteed refund, exchange, or repair with no questions asked and at no cost to you.
  • After 1 month and until 1 year โ€” all manufacturing defects will be repaired free of charge. If damage is deemed to be from user error a flat rate shipping and handling fee of $30 will be charged before repairs or upgrades are made to a product.
  • After 1 year and until 3 years โ€” a shipping and repair fee of $75 will be charged before repairs or upgrades are made to a product.

    1. Hi Steve! Yes the VOID vacuum lid for Blendtec will work with the Pro 800 sound enclosure on. On some Blendtec Pro 800 units you MAY need to trim the rubber logo slightly on top of the Pro 800. Hope that helps!

  1. I have blendtec and 5200 vitamix. If I get the vitamix kit will the lid that comes in kit also work with my blendtec? If it does I will be getting that kit. If it doesn’t I won’t. Need to be sure. Thanks!

Hi Tom! Sorry for the delay I had to be sure before I answered. Yes the lid for the vitamix vacuum blender retrofit kit will also fit on a Blendtec jar. Hope that helps! ~Tarashaun
