JOE ROGAN KALE GREEN SMOOTHIE SHAKE
Joe Rogan makes his kale shake almost every morning! Of course the UFC commentator and mixed martial artist learned how blending your greens makes “eating” them much easier as well as how healthy and nutritious they are for you! This vegetable drink is the perfect breakfast shake and we see why he loves it so much.  Few ingredients can simply be the perfect way to introduce yourself to green smoothies, and this one packs a powerful punch! We have seen Joe Rogan use both a Vitamix and a Blendtec blender to make his kale shake, so obviously he is well aware of the two best high powered blenders out there! 🙂

HEALTH BENEFITSÂ OF KALE
Kale is a natural cancer fighter – it contains an abundance of glucosinolate enzymes which stop cancer cells from becoming active and speeds up the removal of carcinogens from your system. Â An anti-cancer compound found in kale helps your liver more efficiently remove toxins and its high levels of fiber have been found to lower LDL “bad cholesterol.” Klae gives you more iron per calorie than beef and it also delivers 2g of protein per cup, makeit it a viable meat alternative. Also a wonderful non-dairy source of calcium, with more per calorie than milk and is easier for the body to digest! Â It also has anti-aging qualities with high levels of Vitamin C which makes fewer wrinkles and firmer, softer skin.
This recipe is amazing and the key is to drink it very cold and add enough water to avoid the overwhelming potency of the ginger and garlic.
I have been making and drinking this shake for a week now and am slowly perfecting the recipe. Also takes some time to acquire a taste for it! Don’t give up and just think about the difference you are making everyday in your health. I can feel myself dropping weight and my tummy and wasist are trimming down. With regular exercise this will have you feeling energized and clean.
Thanks for sharing Tom! Did Joe Rogan add garlic to his kale green smoothie and we didn’t know! That sounds like quite a cold fighting combo! 😉 We always like super cold green smoothies, but some people don’t as much. Glad it’s working for you! Happy Blending. 🙂
I got my blentec for my birthday and love my shakes & juices will be making chocklate ice cream soon. Love my blentec.
A Blendtec is a wonderful Birthday present Leonora! Thanks so much for sharing with us! Let us know how you like our chocolate ice cream. 🙂 HAPPY BLENDING!
I love this green smoothie, especially because of ginger. It’s my kind of pre-workout smoothie.
Thank you, I really enjoyed your site 🙂
I make this every day when I’m cutting weight. It’s a great way to start the day and has a TON of vitamins and nutrition. Two changes I make sometimes if I want the taste to be more optimal for me. 1) I use Orange juice or tomato juice instead of water. 2) As mentioned above, you can use coconut juice as well.
I like your site! I found it when I was looking for more recipes for my VitaMix CIA.
Awesome Charles! I bet it tastes really good with Orange Juice, great idea! Will have to try with tomato juice as well 🙂 WELCOME to Blender Babes! xo ~ The Babes
I cut the celery and kale in half.
I was excited to try this but it was horrible. I couldn’t get past the bitter flavor. I think it might have been better if 2 kale stocks were used instead of four. I couldn’t drink it even after adding a banana and some soaked dates. So I poured it into a muffin tray to replace ice in some of my other smoothies!
Cynthia you just totally made us laugh!! Yes Joe’s Kale Shake is VERY green. Do you have a high powered blender? The celery is a pretty strong flavor too, we usually use less of that and vanilla coconut milk or plain with soaked dates. DEFINITELY a great idea to make green juice ice in your muffin tray!! BRAVO!! xoxo
