FAQs

WHICH BLENDER IS BEST?

There are SO MANY blenders on the market, it almost seems daunting.  The difference however, between your typical home blender (such as an Oster or Cuisinart) and a commercial quality blender, like the ones used in restaurants, is considerable.  Blender Babes has tested and reviewed many of the most popular blenders out there.  When it comes down to design and performance – most of them do not compare to the power and functionality found with both VITAMIX and BLENDTEC blenders.  They are the two top blenders in the world and any one who owns one of these blenders can attest to that.  If you do not currently own one of these blenders… then you must answer the question “WHAT TYPE OF BLENDER ARE YOU?”  Then put it on your wishlist, and find a way to obtain one of these two blenders, because it WILL change your life! Of course, if you’re not ready for the BEST just yet, the top home non commercial blender we recommend is Breville.

HOW DO I SEARCH FOR A RECIPE?

You can use the search box in the top right hand corner. The search will pull any words you choose, so treat the box as you would Google, and use “quotes” for specific keyword phrases, etc.  You can also search by a specific eating lifestyle, such as GLUTEN FREEVEGETARIAN or HEART HEALTHY.

CAN WE SUBMIT RECIPES?

Yes of course! Blender Babes welcomes our community recipes.  Please visit the SUBMIT A RECIPE page to send your favorite to us.  If we create a video for it, we will credit you of course!

TO BECOME A BLENDER BABES RECIPE TESTER, MUST I OWN A BLENDTEC OR VITAMIX BLENDER?

Not at all! You don’t have to own a Blendtec or Vitamix blender in order to become a recipe tester.  We are looking for all kinds of Lifestyles & Diets, from I-Eat-Everything to Vegetarian to Diabetic!  Learn more about becoming a recipe tester.

WHAT IS A GOOD SUBSTITUTE FOR BANANAS?

Some people are allergic to bananas, and some just don’t like the flavor and/or texture. It seems like so many smoothie recipes have bananas in them though! If you come across them in a recipe, you can either try using avocado (1/4 to 1/2 depending on how many calories/healthy fats you want to add) or mangoes which are both good substitutes for banana to get the same creamy texture – but definitely omitting them is an option too!! 🙂
