SPINACH CARROT JUICE RECIPE

This healthy spinach carrot juice recipe will not only give you a TON of natural energy, but has a hefty dose of fiber!  The pineapple is a nice sweetener and flavor, make sure to keep the nutritious core in it, as your Blendtec or Vitamix high powered blender will easily pulverize it and make it digestible for you.

You can substitute apple for the pineapple if necessary, but make sure to core it first, since apple seeds aren’t nutritious like the core of the pineapple!

You can use regular water or we like coconut water for added hydration, electrolytes, and potassium.

Carrot juice is so fibrous compared to other juices we make and to make it more of a thin juice consistency, you will notice in the recipe instructions for Blendtec we use the SOUP button, which runs a full 40 seconds longer than the WHOLE JUICE button, and for Vitamix, we run it a full 1.5 minutes on High before manually stopping. However be sure to add lots of ice so it doesn’t get hot and kill the live enzymes.

HEALTH BENEFITS & FUN FACTS ABOUT CARROTS

Carrots have strong cleansing properties that are effective in detoxifying the liver, thus very effective for acne that is caused by toxins from the blood.

Carrots are also useful for treating uneven skin tones due to pigmentation. The vitamin A and other nutrients contained in carrots efficiently nourish the skin, prevent dry skin and other skin blemishes.

Chewing carrots can help clean your teeth, and is the best way to keep your mouth clean after meals. They act as natural abrasives that help in eliminating the dirt and plague from the teeth and gums. They also trigger a lot of saliva, which helps to scrub away stains on your teeth. Minerals in carrots helps to kill germs in the mouth and prevent tooth damage.

SPINACH CARROT JUICE FAQs

1. Can Spinach cause gas?

Yes, spinach is a fiber-rich vegetable. Consuming a significant amount of fiber can lead to gas, cramping, and abdominal discomfort in some individuals. Additionally, spinach contains oxalates, naturally occurring compounds found in many plants. People who are prone to calcium oxalate kidney stones should be cautious about their oxalate intake and may want to limit their consumption of oxalate-rich foods like spinach to reduce the risk of stone formation.

2. How much Spinach a day?

Aim for approximately 1 cup of fresh spinach or 1/2 cup of cooked spinach per day as part of a balanced diet. Incorporating spinach into your meals can be versatile and enjoyable. You can use spinach in various ways, such as adding it to your salads, mixing it into scrambled eggs, using it as a pizza topping, or even blending it with marinara sauce for a quick and delicious dip.

3. Can Carrots Be Frozen?

Yes, you can freeze carrots. For the best results in preserving their taste, texture, nutrients, and vibrant color, we recommend you to blanch them before freezing. Blanching helps maintain the quality of the carrots and prevents them from becoming mushy during freezing. This extra step in the freezing process is well worth it and can save you time when you’re ready to use them in your favorite recipes.

4. Can Spinach Be Frozen?

Yes, you can freeze spinach. However, you can maintain its optimal quality and flavor for approximately 3 months in the freezer. While you can keep it for longer, it’s important to note that spinach may start to lose some of its flavor and texture after this period, and it might develop an icy consistency. To enjoy the best-tasting frozen spinach, try to use it within the recommended 3-month timeframe.

I added an apple and a little more coconut water as well, per request of my daughter. It is A-mazing!

  2. Just got my reconditioned Blendtec today and tried my favorite juice recipe of 2-3 carrots, an apple and Celery, the blender heated up on the Whole Juice cycle, and with all the carrots it was way too frothy! I really miss the pure juice I have been drinking for a few years, but I tried this spinach recipe with what we had in the fridge, leftover canned spinach, no pineapple but used celery and on Soup cycle with coconut water and ice cubes and I think its got promise though my blender still leaks a bit. Thanks for all the great information on this site! glad to be a part of it now!

    1. Hi Dave and welcome to Blender Babes! If you’re transitioning from pure juice, you’ll want to make sure to use lots of ice to dilute and cool down the veggies. I would also recommend using fresh spinach! Hope you try some more recipes and let us know what you think!

Stephanie Hsu The pineapple core can still be blended with a regular blender (although not as well or easily!) We just let people know to include since many cut it out as they are used to for consumption 🙂

Thanks for the advice, added more water & it’s great. BTW you have to amend the core thing as it clearly states to leave the apple core in, if you just read it & then made the juice you would definitely remember to put the apple core in(or the pineapple core). Just seems a little too dangerous to leave it worded that way. Thanks.

Thanks for your comment, Michael! I changed it a bit to reflect the edits over time on this recipe. Just to reiterate: if using apple, core it first, since the seeds are not nutritionally beneficial. If using pineapple, feel free to include the core. Thanks for your feedback and happy blending!

  4. Tarashaun Hausner, it says "make sure to keep the nutritious core in it, as your Blendtec or Vitamix high powered blender will easily pulverize it and make it digestible for you" in your post. Might want to correct it so people who don't read comments know not to consume!

  5. Tarashaun Hausner

Yes that is correct! Thank you for sharing Tony – we usually say cored in our ingredients 🙂

  6. Debbie Korach Riney

I this sounds amazing to say the least! I only wish I had a Blendtec to use, I guess I will have to do a 2 step and pulverize my carrots in my food processor and then add all the rest to my little ol' old fashioned blender!

    1. Welcome Debbie! Yes that’s a very good idea if you don’t have a high powered blender! You might want to chop all the ingredients in the food processor, and try adding more water than the recipe calls for. 🙂 Hope that helps! xoxo

  7. hello. i’m confused. you to press the soup button. when i press the soup button on my blendtec, it makes hot soup. do you mean press the whole juice or smoothie button??

    1. Great question Pierre and welcome! I will update this recipe so it’s more clear. When we make a juice that involves carrots or other extremely fibrous product (i.e. celery), we find that when we press the SOUP button, which runs a full 40 seconds longer than the WHOLE JUICE button – and add lots of ice to prevent heating like a soup – that it’s more of a thin juice consistency.

  8. Hello Marie! Welcome to Blender Babes! We answered this via our website and not FB – hope you get this! All recipes are tested with both a Blendtec and Vitamix blender for accurate instructions for both. 🙂 If you try it please rate it! 🙂
