BLENDER BABES RECIPE TESTER NOTES
To add a cold, thicker element use frozen bananas or frozen mango as an option.

You also might include some strawberries and lemon or lemon juice.

Since not everyone has access to fresh mangos year-round, you may want to use frozen mangos.

Adding a 1/4 inch slice of fresh ginger is also a nice addition to this smoothie.

This smoothie could also be prepared using coconut water, a natural source of electrolytes for the body.

Great recipe! Easy to make and simple ingredients. You taste the banana and orange more than anything. Very yummy! This is the first recipe I’ve tried from this site…so far 🙂

    1. You should always peel oranges. a little zest is OK however there’s undigestible oils in the peel. 🙂 If you try it Olga please rate this vitamin C green smoothie recipe! Happy Blending!

The first thing I reach for when I feel a cold coming on is organic garlic! I put it in my socks under the soles of my feet at night, and within 48 hours I’m back to feeling perfectly fine.

This smoothie looks great! I had almost the exact same thing for breakfast, but with strawberries instead of an orange and a little bit of raw honey added to it. 🙂

    1. We have heard of the sock trick with onions! So it’s not an old wives tail 😉 Thanks for sharing Jessica! Happy Blending!

  3. If it starts with a tickle in the throat I go straight for the apple cider vinegar and follow it with a cup of throat coat tea, or if it’s just the icky all over feeling, then I go for some emergen-C. Either way I make sure to drink plenty of water

  4. The first thing I reach for is lemon and honey hot tea with a little bit of ginger and a tiny pinch of salt. I always start off with a sore throat before any other symptoms and this is very soothing.

I just got back from a cruise recently and came down with a cold (no surprise after being in contact with thousands of people). First thing I reach for is homemade bone broth, high vitamin C fruits like citrus and kiwi, and most importantly offal. It’s been a liver, heart, and kidney week for me!

  6. I always start with oranges, then I move to diffusing the thieves oil. I haven’t had a real bad cold/flu in over a year.

The first thing i reach for is raw garlic. I grew up on garlic and honey and still use it for a cold to this day.

    1. Thanks for sharing Dameesha. Do you mix the raw garlic and honey together and eat it straight to combat a cold, or do you make a tea? How much do you use? 🙂
