I AM BERRY CLEAN DETOX JUICE
I am Berry Clean is the second or mid morning drink recipe in Blender Babes’ Free Juice Detox
This juice is a FAVORITE among our tribe for its simplicity as well as a tasty juice which incorporates super detoxing cayenne – when typically detox juices with cayenne can be a little hard to swallow.
We use strawberries and raspberries, but really any combination of two berries will work. Use what’s in season or use frozen fruit. 🙂
This high antioxidant, blood cleansing whole juice recipe is easily made with a power blender, such as a Blendtec or Vitamix – but we have tested and you can make this recipe with regular blender as well. 🙂

BEET HEALTH BENEFITS
Beets are a powerful blood cleanser and commonly used for detoxing as well as adding natural sweetness to juice recipes.
They contain betacyanin, which give them their rich pink color as well as reduces the risk of some cancers, especially colon cancer. Beets also reduce the risk of dementia by producing nitric acid in the body.
Drinking beet juice can lower blood pressure, combat constipation due to high fiber content, and improve the health of your eyes and nerve tissues.
BERRY HEALTH BENEFITS
Berries are packed with antioxidants that fight cancer, lower the risk of diabetes, boost brain function, and help regulate and lower bad cholesterol and blood pressure.
Berries are also rich in pectin, a form of soluble fiber that can lower total cholesterol levels. Strawberries and raspberries are also a good source of folate, a nutrient needed by expectant mothers to stave off birth defects.
Fiber in berries relieves constipation and the anthocyanins in berries repair aging skin.
CAYENNE PEPPER HEALTH BENEFITS
Cayenne pepper is spicy, which ends up fighting inflammation and can also reduce pain by blocking pain receptors in the brain.
The heat from cayenne also serve to clear up congestion and lose weight.
Though most people think that peppers make stomach ulcers worse, they actually contribute to healing stomach ulcers by killing the offending bacteria.

This is intense. Wouldn't be able to drink more than half even if I wanted to. I thought 10 drops of stevia would be too much but it needed it. I can drink it for a detox but not something I would crave.
This is probably one of my favorites — Awesome recipe!!! For simplicity I’ll likely use the pre-cooked beets next time I make this.
This was delicious!!! Will be making again!
I think this is my favorite of the detox smoothies. I love the texture and the flavor. Awesomesauce.
This is my favorite! So satisfying.
I tried … I really did … I just can’t do the beets. I cooked and peeled them and it still tasted like dirt. Cayenne pepper is also a bit strong. Gonna cut that in half next time.
I used all
I used just strawberries instead of the strawberry/raspberry mix. I was surprised and really enjoyed it. It’s a keeper!!
This is a favorite. I use raw beets instead of cooked and it is great. Just remember red juice in means red juice out, you aren't hemorraging!
This sounds so interesting! I’ve never used cooked beets in a smoothie…only raw in juice (my personal favorite.) And cayenne pepper?! Genius! I’m going to go cook my beets right NOW. 🙂
If I am making 2 servings can I freeze the second serving for the following day? Tis ay also help with traveling for work, it should be easier to transport. I can take them with me in the morning. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thank you!
Hi, Amy! and WELCOME to Blender Babes! I would recommend freezing it in ice cube trays if you plan on re-blending. That way, you won’t break your blender or the nutritional value of the fresh fruits & veggies! Let us know how it goes & happy blending!
Sorry for the late reply, Samantha! You can use non-organic berries — if you're not going to use stevia, you might just try a sweeter fruit like a mango or something that is easy to find there – or carrots. Use honey or dates to sweeten from there. 🙂 Let us know how it goes! Happy Blending!
So glad you're enjoying it! One trick is to make sure you're using enough liquid (water, coconut water, ice) and then run the soup cycle instead of the whole juice preset. Happy Blending!
I am so happy I found this! I have had a Blendtec for a few years and want to get the most out of the juicing feature. Thank you!
This is almost TOO good – I want more, more, more!! I threw some cranberries in it because I had them – yum!
It’s my FAVORITE too!! Glad you like it and LOVE the cranberry addition! 🙂 ~Blender Babe Tarashaun
I'm living in a part of Brazil right now where I cannot find organic berries. What other fruit can I use as a substitute. Also what can I use in replace of the stevia as I don't like the taste. Honey or a date?
Hi Samantha – you can try blenderbabes.com/blender-babes-101/blender-babes-how-to-tips/how-to-wash-fruits-vegetables-and-remove-pesticides-with-diy-homemade-recipes/” target=”_blank”>washing your berries of some pesticides or use frozen berries if you can find those organic? Not sure what else would sub for these. You can absolutely use raw honey or dates instead of stevia. If you do let us know who much you used and how it tasted! 🙂 HAPPY BLENDING!
