DR. OZ GREEN JUICE RECIPE

This Dr. Oz green juice was originally shared with the world on Oprah! Who wouldn’t want a green juice recipe from one of the most well known doc’s around!

However, Dr. Oz’s green juice is traditionally made with a juice extractor…

Blender Babes tested the famous doc’s green juice by keeping all the fiber and other nutrition (found in skin & seeds, etc.) and liquefying everything with a good high powered blender – and we think it’s just as good!

The amount of liquid is important! Note that 1.5 to 2 cups is needed to make this whole food Dr Oz green juice recipe. The adjusted ingredient amounts are below.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups – 2 cups (12-16 ounces) filtered or spring water
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cup cucumber
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 small bunch parsley
  • 2 apples (cored)
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • Juice 1 lime
  • 1 1/2 cups Ice

If you don’t have a powerful blender, you will definitely want to cut this recipe in half, use more water, and follow these blending tips.

Since many of these ingredients are part of the dirty dozen that have the most pesticides, buy what you can organic or use this fruit and veggie wash to remove what you can.

One of our favorites, the new Dr Oz green juice recipe is similar to this one but has more fruit to sweeten it up a bit! 🙂

HEALTH BENEFITS OF THE DR OZ GREEN JUICE

This smoothie is packed with tons of nutrition powerhouses.

Besides providing good levels of vitamins A and K, parsley also has several unusual, helpful components: volatile oils which can inhibit tumor formation, especially in the lungs; and flavonoids, which prevent cell damage associated with various diseases, including asthma, atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, glaucoma, heart disease and macular degeneration.

Moreover, Ginger has many benefits unique to itself, lying in components called gingerols.  Several studies show that ginger (fresh not dried) helps reduce nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy, and when used in tea, can relieve symptoms of the common cold and flu, as well as menstrual cramps, headache, and sore throat.

Gingerols appear to be responsible for relieving inflammation associated with arthritis and migraine.

Don’t forget the lime juice! Note that Limes contain flavanol glycosides, which studies show can interfere with cancer cell growth and act as an antibiotic.

Blender Babes Thank you! I already did that and I froze the bags flat so they store easily in my freezer 🙂

Can I make up several ziplock bags with these ingredients in them and freeze them to use and make daily from a frozen state without losing any nutritious value?

    1. Hi Majkela! Sometimes, when there are a lot of greens in a smoothie, I use the SOUP button so that it is definitely 100% smooth and drinkable liquid like a cold-pressed juice! You can try the smoothie button if you prefer that consistency, though – use your judgment and make it how you like it! Happy Blending!

  3. Hey Lorraine! Dr. Oz's green juice is ideal for diabetics, since it's lower in sugar with tons of greens and light on the fruit. If you're asking about his detox smoothie program, both Blender Babes and Dr Oz recommend you ask your doctor first. HAPPY BLENDING!

The green juice is great! Since I have been making green juice, it has helped keep my blood pressure stable. I have been on High Blood Pressure meds for 2 years now, and just started drinking this juice about a month ago, and have started monitoring my pressure, and it has helped it tremendously. Great Health Benefits!

WONDERFUL TO HEAR KATREA! So happy for you! Glad it has helped you and thank you for sharing with us and our community. WELCOME. 🙂

  6. SOUNDS DELICIOUS! Yes Eddie that’s perfect – it’s what we do. Just be sure to drink them usually within 24 hours, otherwise freeze and defrost/thaw before you’re going to consume. 🙂

  7. I prefer this Dr. OZ green juice recipe as it is a bit simpler than the new one. I replaced one apple with a golden beet and spinach for lacinate kale. Also, included the beet stem/leaves. Question: I typically store extra juice in ball jars and store in fridge, is that ok?
