Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Bath Instructions

  1. While drawing your bath, add the apple cider vinegar.
  2. Soak for up to 30 minutes. Remember, hot water is best for all detox baths since hot water is what is needed to help detoxify as it opens up the skin’s pores. Note: Check with your doctor if you have any conditions such as high blood pressure or a heart condition before using this natural apple cider vinegar detox bath recipe.

Ginger Detox Bath Recipe

  • 5 DIY Detox Bath Recipes by @BlenderBabes 1/2 C of freshly grated ginger or a rounded teaspoon of ginger powder

Ginger Detox Bath Instructions

  1. Add grated ginger or ginger powder to hot or warm water.
  2. Soak for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Make sure to drink plenty of water after your ginger bath.

Please remember that the ginger bath will make you sweat profusely for at least an hour afterwards, so wear sweat clothes or a bathrobe and drink lots of water after. If you have sensitive skin or are allergy-prone, test ginger on your skin for irritation before dipping into the bath.

Ginger is a root that possesses loads of healthy properties when you eat it, but it can also be used in other ways to help the body, like soaking in a ginger bath.

You can either grate fresh ginger into your bath or sprinkling in some ginger powder.

It’s a way to get the body to sweat a lot more and get even extra amounts of toxins out, much like taking a sauna or sitting in a steam room.

They say it leads to feelings of increased energy, feeling cleaner, and warding off symptoms of an oncoming cold.

Baking Soda Detox Bath Recipe

5 DIY Detox Bath Recipes by @BlenderBabes

Baking Soda Detox Bath Instructions

  1. Combine 1-part Epsom salt to a 2-part baking soda – mixture creates this basic detox bath for one 30 minute soak. For a first detox bath, measure 1 cup of Epsom salt and 2 cups of baking soda.
  2. Add mixture while drawing hot bath water, filling the tub 2/3 of the way full.
  3. Soak for at least one half hour.

Other ingredients may be added to this basic detox bath, depending on the need. For example, salt can be drying to the skin. Therefore, you can add 10 drops of glycerin to your bath water to counterbalance this reaction.

Are you aware that common baking soda, the kind you keep in your fridge to absorb odors, can also be used as a detoxing device?

It’s true, just adding this to your bath you’re giving it properties it otherwise wouldn’t have.

It’s been said that a baking soda bath can help you to de-stress. It’s very important to view stress as a toxic condition, and to look at different ways of relaxing as a way to detox the body.

Baking soda is scientifically known as sodium bicarbonate, great for neutralizing the chlorine that has been added to most city water sources.

It’s tough to detox in a bath that’s full of a toxic chemical, so it’s good that this makes it cleaner naturally.

Sea Salt Detox Bath Recipe

5 DIY Detox Bath Recipes by @BlenderBabes

Sea Salt Detox Bath Instructions

  1. Combine all of the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Draw a bath with hot water, as hot as you handle. As the water is filling the tub, add all of the dry ingredients and the vinegar. The flowing water will help mix it, but make sure to mix it up well. (If your water turns yellow or orange, that’s just the ginger and the vinegar).
  3. Soak for about 40 minutes and relax.

You can use chopped fresh ginger if you choose, but we suggest putting it in a tea ball or something similar so pieces of ginger aren’t floating around in your tub or clog your drain.

A salt bath is among the oldest baths out there, and has been used for many years to help people relax and unwind.

But did you also know that sea salt alone can help to pull toxins out of the body, and provide extra benefits to your skin?

This recipe uses sea salt, so you’re getting all natural salt, not the kind that is iodized and sold in cylindrical containers.

Some of the reported benefits from soaking in this bath: having more energy at the beginning of the day, not needing to reach for a caffeine jolt, and feeling better throughout the whole day.

  1. It helps me to feel more hopeful about our future when I see good people sharing good things that give us ways to help defend ourselves against all the toxins in our world these days. Thank you so much

  2. Caroline Garcia

I love a decent, unwinding bath! Thanks for sharing the recipes. I have a question regarding water… our own has chlorine and flouride. I would love to have an entire house filtration system, yet I have no clue who to call, where to get one. Anything you can suggest?

    1. Blender Babes

Hey Caroline! I hear you! I’ve looked at a couple but haven’t quite done the research to be able to suggest one to get. Since they are so expensive I would need to spend some time doing the research. 😉

      1. Katherine Modesto

call a company called hyrotech or u.s. pure water in greenbrae ca they can help.you out also ypu can buy a filter for your shower that you screw on before showerhead with brass filings In it which render the chlorine an inert molecule. Not to expensive and very effective

      2. Dr Bragg has info on filtration systems also…
I know I’ll need to save up… but also talking to homesteading types there’s supposedly a charcoal filtration system used in their water supply to remove toxins… I can’t remember the link.
        (Can probablt Google)

But I know how charcoal is used as a filtering means in most “ez filters”

I’ve lived in so many climates from de,va,az,wi,fl,ct,mt,all over Cali n the west coast…. I noticed how My skin and body handled the additives the local water authority put in (or not…. for well water)

I know my skin n hair did better after a filter system was used …. but also with my health sensitivities… when they over fluoridate and chlorinate (hyper-treating) the water. I get sick after constant exposure….

        The detox baths are excellent…

        Sorry… I’m ranting… again a part of my condition

  3. I never tried a ginger detox bath recipe. I tried the baking soda and Epsom salt detox bath with essential oil. I have my own recipe for that as well. But I am so much excited to have a ginger detox bath today…

  4. This is super helpful, thanks! I added some coconut oil to mine because I have really dry skin. If I make large batches will it keep unrefrigerated? (I would assume so because none of the ingredients are refrigerated but just checking!)

  5. Cyndee MacLeod.Daggett

Love this, really drained afterwards, do every Sunday! Haven’t done for a while & can feel that I haven’t!

No Diseases not even cancer can survive!
Read comments below I’d like to add I drink baking soda/acv water for 2 weeks then just acv water no baking soda for the next 2 weeks as no diseases can survive in alkaline which is baking soda but we do need acid that’s why I drink b.s./ace water2 weeks then just ace water 2 weeks!

    1. Love this Cyndee! Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂 I have acv lemon water but not with baking soda, will have to try it. 🙂

  6. I use coconut oil as a natural lotion and in my morning coffee. It’s great for both! And, it’s great to add to your bath. Experiment with different amounts. You might start with a cup.
Use hot water so your pores release toxins and stay in the water 30+ minutes. Then air dry or tamp with a towel. Some like to not rinse for full affect. Cooling down let’s the pores close after toxins have left.
I did find one person who said not to mix vinegar with baking soda. I don’t know why but it does bring up the question of chemistry so I suggest making a small sample brew in your sink to test your personal concoction. Happy soaking and healing.

  7. Love this, cancer fighter again with my 2nd type cancer in 5 years, clearing the body of toxins is crucial, thank you for making it easier

    1. You’re welcome Michelle! Thanks for sharing your plight, you will be in my prayers. I highly recommend looking into Chaga Mushrooms and making tea as well as E3Live blue green algae from the Klamath Lakes. Both will help boost your immune system.

      1. Klamath lakes algae for sure.. there’s actually a detox bath salt that is made in Oregon and it has kelp and algae in it… It’s sold at a little salt shop in Seaside but I’ve also seen recipes for the actual soak if you don’t mind smelling kelp for about 10 20 minutes depending on how hot you want make the bath

    1. Blender Babes

Yes Jen! I do that all the time 🙂 Ginger is a hot oil though, you may want to add to a carrier oil first. ENJOY!!

    1. Great question Chavon! I like to use sugar 😀 If you use salt be sure to grind it fine otherwise large pieces could damage skin. Most carrier oils have a 12 month shelf life…
