We love Kimberly Snyder and have featured many of her Beauty Detox recipes in addition to Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie in our celebrity recipe section.

Drink this Glowing Green Smoothie (aka GGS) daily!

Yes! You read right! Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie could be a daily staple. It features lots of greens, and fruit to help balance that “green” taste.

The lemon gives cleansing benefits in addition to the greens. In fact, you can mix and match greens with fruit to your liking, or what produce you must use up! Ideally it’s 2 types of greens with 2-3 types of fruits plus lemon.

I personally don’t like celery in it (too strong of a flavor for me), so I leave it out.  However, if I’m trying to detox, I’ll add some parsley or cilantro, or both and use more banana or even some dates to sweeten it up.

I love mixing up the greens & fruit, and sometimes using coconut water instead of filtered water. 🙂

The beautiful thing about the GGS is the idea is to drink a quart or so of green smoothie per day to easily get more than the daily recommended servings of fruits and vegetables!

If you don’t have a Blendtec or Vitamix or other high powered blender don’t fret, you can still make the Glowing Green Smoothie!

Just follow our tips on making green smoothies with a “regular” blender.

I would rate this 10 out of 10. It was really delicious and I could really taste the lemon. I didn't like the texture at first but once I got used to it, I loved it!

I liked this one because it makes so much, you will not go hungry! Its right in the middle between too sweet and too veggie in taste. But I liked it because of the amount of water, my thirst was quenched til lunch.

  3. This smoothie was very good and it makes a lot. Next time I'll leave out the celery though because I could taste it too much and I don't like celery!

This was ok. Kind of like a great base to improve on. I will tinker with it until I get it to where I like it. Maybe scale back the lemon and add a different fruit juice or more apple or pear.

  5. I love this! I only use 2 celery stalks to limit this flavor. I add an orange sometimes and it's great!

I didn’t include the pear bc I didn’t want it to be so sweet from the apple and banana! Also added kale to mix things up. Definitely a winning green smoothie!

  7. It was good if you like it green! My first time blending Romaine lettuce. I didn't have pear so I added pineapple. Reminded me a lot of the lunch one from the Dr. Oz 3 Day cleanse. It was also huge and therefore very filling. I give it an 8 🙂

  8. it is definitely green! lol. it wasn't a bad taste but not as sweet as i'd like. I added a mango because it's what I had and it was slightly better. looking for a sweetner to add to it.

I didn’t see the ice addition in my ebook recipe but had used a frozen banana anyhow. This wasn’t a favorite but its not bad. It thickened a bit much until I arrived at work but I’m sipping on it all morning! Had enough to refrigerate another mason jar of it which I’ll have tomorrow since there’s no day 7 in the recipes.

This was delicious!!! I’ve become a big fan of juicing and this will be added to my rotation. My store didn’t have ripe bananas so I substituted an orange. I look forward to making with banana next time.

I just tried this last night and replaced banana with 6 strawberries. I also added 2 tbs chia seeds, 1 tbs of acai powder and 1 tbs of honey. it is delicious. I was able to make 4-5 cups out of it and while I had a glassful last night and another one this morning before leaving for work, I still have another glass ready for either tonight or tomorrow morning 🙂

I am on a Paleo diet and this smoothie is perfect!!!

Sounds so yummy, Joyce! As a Paleo person, what kind of recipes do you look for? We are working on having as many lifestyles covered and don’t have any Paleo people on staff. So glad you enjoyed this one! 🙂

Really good.. I love love love my green smoothies. I change this up and sometimes make it with cucumber, and add an avocado in place of the banana.

I have a ninja blender, so mine came out very thick. Did anyone else’s come out really thick? Maybe I added too much romaine. It’s ok. The taste is ok. I taste mostly the celery.

    1. If it’s too thick, just add more liquid and blend it longer! If it gets warm you may want to add ice as well. If you don’t like the dominating flavor of the celery, make sure to use a green apple or some extra citrus or banana to cut the flavor a bit, or just cut the celery to one stalk. 🙂 Happy blending!
