DR. OZ 3 DAY DETOX DINNER SMOOTHIE DRINK

Dr. Oz’s famous 3-day detox cleanse features this super cleansing detox drink. This is the renowned green smoothie dinner drink.

This green smoothie by our favorite doctor is both super hydrating and cleansing – perfect just before you go to sleep and allow your body to use these ingredients and GO TO TOWN detoxing your body!

This green smoothie, featuring both lemon and cayenne pepper, reminded us of the popular but challenging “master cleanse” diet. Although they perform beautifully, this was the most “detox” flavored green smoothie among all three Dr. Oz Green Drinks in his cleanse.

If this powerful flavor is too much for you too, we like to add at least 5-8 drops of stevia to sweeten it up a bit. 🙂

Above all you do not need a high powered blender to participate in Dr. Oz 3 Day Detox Cleanse!

Use these tips on making green smoothies in a regular blender!

    1. Hey Susan! Are you able to have seeds at all or just not flax seed? I would recommend chia seeds since they also contain fiber and omega 3s. If no seeds at all, just omit. There’s still a lot of fiber in these smoothies to help clean out your digestive tract. Let me know how it goes! Best ~ Tarashaun

  1. I know this recipe is super old but it is new to me. This may sound like an incredibly stupid question but here it is. I’m not near a blender for my “snack” between dinner and lunch. If I ate a banana with some almond butter (from the breakfast smoothie) instead does that defeat the purpose? Like do all the ingredients need to work together to be beneficial?

    1. Not a stupid question at all 🙂 You can blend the ingredients in the morning and take it with you to have at lunch time, ideally with a way to keep it cool. However if that is not possible, you could eat the almond butter and banana and whatever other ingredients that you can for your lunch. You will still get all the nutrition your body will just work a little harder to break it down. XOXO HAPPY BLENDING!

    1. Hi Sarah, there’s not a lot of good substitutes for avocado unfortunately. You can either omit and add another healthy fat such as 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or flax oil OR you can try chayote squash – Once cooked, this works as an excellent low-calorie substitute for avocados in many dishes.

  2. I have been hearing about these drinks from my daughter and decided to give them a try. I will probably be alone to do the drinks so can I save left overs for example until the next day?

    1. Yes absolutely Caren! Smoothies will still be good for up to 24 hours in the fridge. They start to get icky after that. You can also freeze them and pull them out 8 hours before to thaw. You may want a blender bottle or something else to help mix it up again if you take your smoothie on the go.

  3. OK correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe these recipes have to be done to an exact T. It would be preferable if they were, but its not always possible depending on what foods are available, also the breakfast smoothie tasted better with the almond milk, and the lunch smoothie tasted better with the water, the breakfast smoothie also tasted better with lime as opposed to lemon so I switched those (Lemon typically doesn’t taste good with sweeter smoothies)

On the second and third days I subbed peaches for mango because that is what I had and an extra apple for the pineapple and skipped the coconut oil. If you get hungry I advise choosing the breakfast smoothie as your snack as opposed to the other two because it contains the most protein.

I still got the results I was hoping for (lost 4 pounds even though that wasn’t my intention) and felt super healthy.

    1. Awesome Chelsea! So glad you felt the results. Thanks so much for sharing your experience to benefit the rest of our community. 🙂 HAPPY BLENDING!

  4. I think this is one of the most vital info for me. And i’m glad reading your article.
But should remark on few general things, The web
site style is wonderful, the articles is really excellent : D.
    Good job, cheers

    1. Awesome Michelle! Cayenne is sooooo good for you, especially for detoxing, however sometimes it can be too overpowering for people. If you like this recipe, you will LOVE this one. 🙂

    1. Great question Rae and WELCOME! It honestly depends on how used to drinking green smoothies you are. I drink up to 32oz for “one” serving for me – but generally I recommend 16oz to start. This will make several cups – so you can cut it in half if you want to start small, or drink as much as you can and save the rest for a snack. 🙂

  5. 4 stars
Its a good blend taste. The Cayenne gave me a slight head ache though, maybe I put too much. I did not like the Cayenne at all…

    1. Hello and WELCOME! Yes, the cayenne is a really strong flavor and many in our green smoothie detox challenge who tried Dr Oz’s dinner smoothie did not care for the cayenne. It’s a very cleansing ingredient, however so if you can lessen the amount and tolerate it, it will help your body remove toxins. 🙂

  6. 4 stars
Well this one was very creamy, was afraid of the cayenne tho so didn’t use. My bberries were frozen. Cut kale to about 1 1/4.

    1. Blender Babes

Cayenne is super detoxing Cindy, especially having it at dinner time will allow your body to cleanse itself, but we understand the hesitation! Maybe try it again someday with a teeny bit of it! 😉

        1. Hey Ngire, you can definitely try it for longer, but I usually recommend no more than 5 days at a time. You could also just periodically do 1 day here and there. 🙂 Enjoy and HAPPY BLENDING! ~ Tarashaun
